With the layering rhythms an actual tune would be easier to create, so he flicked the bow around in his hand so it was usable and started roughly, not due to lack or skill or confidence but because it suited the feel of the song, playing a series of quick, almost broken sounding notes. Which blended together strangely with the claps and foot tapping.

He watched curiously, it was an idea he could understand, only he’d never express it by physical movement, and could probably never even vocalise it, which was why he played. His fingers twitch and he lifts the violin up, propping his chin on the rest, instead of using the bow he thumbed the strings, a slightly primitive sounding staccato.
